I walked through the gates of Ibadan Grammar School in January 1968. I was excited as it was my family school of choice. It was a transition year, it was the end of Pa Alayande’s era and 1969 the dawn of Pa Labiyi’s. IGS was the school to be! I thoroughly enjoyed and loved my years at Grammar school. We had the best teachers, many expatriates, and of course we had nicknames for all of the dedicated instructors.

IGS to me was both wonderful and unique, the school was integral in who I am today, it molded me into a strong, resilient and dependable woman. Frankly, it’s like I went through the school and the school went through me.

At IGS some found lasting friendships just like I have and many found life partners. The education at the school prepared me for life. Up school!
